Our summer program is divided into 3 main components we call phases. This allows our youth to gain the best experience while maintaining structure and cohesion.
Phase I—Education “Get wisdom! And with all you have gotten, get understanding…” (PR47) It’s simple. Our youth will be responsible for knowing the basics of life, whether they were taught it, whether it was retained, or even explained. This is the foundation phase. We are rebuilding the essentials of life, with the mantra “you can never KNOW enough.” It’s our responsibility to display these concepts in our lives, teach it to our youth, and motivate them to follow. Some concepts covered: healthy lifestyles, self-image/self-esteem, & communication.
Phase II—Activism “…For whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.” (GA67) Why Activism? We live in a selfish society. Where self-gain is the optimal prize and SERVING is labeled as a burden. The goal in this phase is for our participants to realize the gift of giving. RECIPROCITY is a gift that reaps much. Not necessarily for “SELF” but the sumat-large. Some concepts covered: community service, community development projects, team building activities.
Phase III—Empowerment “Go ye therefore and teach all nations…” (MT2819) Empowerment isn't just important, it’s VITAL! Many have the talent, but few have people that will believe in them, unselfishly, and pour into them. That’s the purpose of this phase. It’s all about servitude, pouring, giving, and equipping these young adults for GREATNESS. It’s OUR OBLIGATION! Some concepts covered: job preparation, public speaking, gratitude.
Workshops
Our workshops are AMAZING! They are engaging and empowering from start to finish! It’s designed to impact a greater amount of kids (in comparison to our summer program) in a one day workshop. We invite youth within the community to come and experience our intense curriculum in an interactive day event. Many businesses around the state support this day with prizes, lunch, and raffle items, Youth participants rotate between several stations focused on various themes (creative arts, public speaking, job readiness, etc.), giving them a snapshot of what our full program has to offer.
A.L.I.V.E. Takeover
This is an event that promotes demonstrating love and compassion, and not just talking about it. As a group, we randomly pay for a guest's food at a local restaurant. Our community is able to see a group of young people shining Light with random acts of kindness.
LevelUp LevelUp sessions are ALL about building an authentic community of pure-hearted young people that want to change the world. We shatter the fear of diving into the scriptures, all while having a great time. This monthly meeting encourages our youth to keep fighting in a culture that's set up to keep them away from Christ and dimming the light within.
AYA Our newest facet of the organization., A.L.I.V.E. Young Adults (AYA), was created by two of our young leaders. The day they approached me about their plan we knew it’d be special. They meet with their peers weekly to share the knowledge and love they received from their mentors. They discuss topics pertaining to scripture, and those that are relative to this stage in life.
